TYPE OF ADVICE OFFERED Advice, negotiation and advocacy at the hearing, TYPE OF CASES DEALT WITH Mortgage arrears, including an application to suspend warrants (if time is available). Rent arrears both private and social which rarely includes an application to suspend warrants with both social and private landlords. REFERRAL TO SCHEME An appointment can not be made for someone wishing to use the scheme. The scheme can not provide a service to clients with cases listed on a different day. HELP OUTSIDE OF COURT TIMES Advice can be obtained from a Citizens Advice Bureau, Solicitor or an Advice Agency. SERVICE AVAILABILITY On a Monday session times are weekly. The scheme covers private and public sector possessions listed on a Monday. (Islington Law Centre cover possessions listed on a Tuesday.) There is usually 1 to 2 advisers available at each court session and the client is advised to see the adviser 30 minutes before the court session starts. Pressure on the scheme rarely prevents an adviser from being able to see a client or represent them in court. LOCATION AT THE COURT Main waiting area. FACILITIES AT COURT A private interview room and a seated waiting area is provided.
